#1 | Link | How to display Closed Caption of VOB/TS/MPG and DVD?, Posted 09-10-2006 Quote
The following steps are not required to display the closed caption of vob anymore but will be maintained as a guideline to create the preset for an extension. Go to the second posting of this thread to get an information to display closed caption embedded in .vob, .ts, .mpg.

There are some conditions of displaying subtitles in VOB.

The following steps and screenshots will guide you how to make a specific preset for .vob extension.

Step 1. Make a preset for .vob
-- 1) Make a new preset for .vob
-- 2) Switch 'configuration' to vob
-- 3) Decide the condition when the preset should be switched automatically
-- 4) To check the option will make kmp return to the default preset when closing .vob file.

Step 2. Remember that we are in 'vob' preset. Change to the specified splitter
Step 3. Check the internal mpeg2 decoder
Step 4. It's done. Before closing Preferences, switch back to the 'Default Preset'.

Ps. This method will only work after the beta version released in 09/10/2006.

There is another option for Closed Caption. Maybe you don't need to follow the process above to get closed caption anymore.

Refer to the following screenshot.

There was a crash report while displaying closed caption embedded in mpeg transport streams.

In 2.9.3.1393 beta released at 2007/10/28, the setting of Closed Caption located in DVD Setup is integrated into the section of Subtitle Processing. Refer to the screenshot below.

By default, Closed Caption is disabled. If you want to display Closed Caption of DVD or Mpeg Transport Stream, the CC option below must be enabled manually.

ps. Internal MPEG decoder (libavcodec, libmpeg) must be connected to KMP CC decoder to get Closed Caption; Line21 decoder cannot be connected to Internal MPEG decoder. Disable internal mpeg2 decoder when you enable Line21 decoder; Line21 decoder must be used with external mpeg decoders. (refer to the 2nd screenshot below)
