gen_ml.dll (media library winamp plugin) problem is a common issue in Windows Vista/7. To avoid it you can:

- Delete gen_ml.dll from plugins folder if you don't need it (Recommended)

- Install KMP in a folder with admin rights.

- Run KMP with admin rights (right click on file -> properties)

- Disable UAC in Windows Vista (not recommended)

Could that be Sticky?

or be included into Known bugs? http://www.kmplayer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10549
Please read this before you post and use the Forums Search. Read other sticky threads, too. Thank you.

Hello there.

I am using the ver 3.1428, which was a recent update, with Vista Business edition on my laptop. All possible Win & KM Player updates are done.

Taken the advice below, about the access violation.

Removed the .dll file from KM Player's Plugin directory. Or was there another direct to remove this file also ?

Problem still exist, especially when play back of MP3, playlist (*.pls) from streaming radios like www.sky.fm

If left untouched, the KM Player will shut down by itself.

Anybody has faced this problem and found a solutions, if you can share your solutions it is appreciated here.

You can get the latest version in News & Announcements sub-forum.

If you have removed "gen_ml.dll" from KMP plugins folder, you can't get that error. Go to preferences (F2) -> Plugins -> General purpose, and check the plugins path. Media library plugin should not appear in the plugins list.

If you are getting a different error window, try to post a screenshot of it.

Thank you.

I had uninstalled the older version, check & clean the registery (using Glary Ulitities), and reinstall the newer version.

Then i realised that this problem could have been taken care of during installation. There is an option to Install WINAMP something, I just leave it empty.

Tested with pls, avi playback. No Access violations issues (so far).

Cheers
